The Director of Sales manages and oversees the sales of PURAS Malaysia, he/she is responsible for leading retail sales team to meet and exceed sales goals. Key duties include hiring and development members of sales team, creating and executing sales strategies, developing and managing the sales department budget.
Job Description
- Drive overall sales (retail, online and corporate) and oversees end-to-end process of tracking the sales funnel and operational metrics
- Deliver regular insights to the business and define techniques to improve the funnel performance for sales management across all channels
- Take charge of all retail outlet’s daily operations and maximize profitability by driving sales, minimizing operating costs through effective management of systems and processes.
- Drive operational excellence by enhancing sales productivity
- Manage on-going analysis of sales team’s performance and effectiveness
- Drive and execute strategic plans to achieve company’s sales targets including driving new business opportunities and brand collaborations
- Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers.
- Understand industry-specific trends and landscapes.
- Effectively communicate value propositions, product knowledge and sales reporting through data driven proposals.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead retail store operations, sales generation, inventory management process and control including ordering, storing, tracking, monitoring stock levels and stock lost mitigation and ensuring the right amount of stock and bundles are available for sale at all times
- Lead customer services and sales strategies and drive all sales events and promotions
- Drive CRM & growth strategies from retaining customers and gaining their loyalty to driving growth in sales
- Visit retail establishments to ensure efficient and effective management as well as high performance sales
- Manage and track product samples/GWP (Gift with purchase)
- Manage store planogram and visual merchandising for sales efficiency aligning to brand identity and aesthetics, ensuring layout and display consistency
- Support all new store opening needs
- Develop and implement budget and plans for retail operations and all required sales channels
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly and annual reports and Key Performance Indicators
- Formulate sales targets that are motivating and achievable and drive the performance of sales across all stores
- Direct and supervise retail staff across all retail outlets to ensure they achieve company goals and personal sales targets
- Create and maintain policies, procedures, training manuals, and sales-related resource materials, and reassess operation policies and standards periodically to ensure relevance and improvement in the overall efficiency
- Lead and be responsible for recruitment, retention, training and development of employees in anticipation of business requirements and succession planning
- Coach, motivate and train the team to ensure they deliver outstanding customer service
- Manage and monitor manpower planning by wisely allocating human resources in an effective manner
- Conduct performance evaluations, promotions and terminations when necessary
Academic/ Professional Qualifications
- University graduate, majoring in Business Management, Marketing or relevant discipline
Work Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in retail sales, marketing and business development roles
- Retail, beauty, luxury background, marketing and advertising background would be an advantage
