Works under a direct supervision of an Executive Pastry chef to assist in day-to-day operations of a bakery or pastry kitchen. The pastry chef will collaborate with daily tasks and schedules .
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for delivering products of the highest quality in terms of freshness, taste, and consistency;
Responsible for following all standardized procedures, safety regulations, and notifying the Executive Chef of any shortages or discrepancies in products or ingredients;
Instructs and trains bakery employees the proper procedures and professional/decorative techniques for attractive pastry creations.
Inspects all bakery items upon completion to ensure they have been prepared correctly and meeting high quality standards.
Work together with the Executive Chef to take appropriate actions to reduce operating costs without the affecting the quality of pastries and services.
Work towards reducing accident costs by maintaining a safe, hazard free bakery operation, ensuring all accidents are reported immediately and accident reports completed;
Develop and research new recipes trends, and create decorative cakes, statuaries and ornaments for special events or parties;
Assists in other areas of the operation when required.
High School graduate or equivalent education required
